SCHOOL VISITS

School Visits

Sarah Reida LOVES speaking to kids about reading and writing, and she is available for Skype school sessions, or in-person appearances (when/where possible). She uses structures that get kids excited about reading and writing, drawing from her personal experience and offering the next generation of writers encouragement they’ll remember!

While she’s flexible regarding structure, here’s an example of a recent PowerPoint presentation she used. She loves assemblies, classroom visits, and writing workshops, so please reach out to her at sarahsreida@gmail.com if you’d like to learn more.

Here’s what kids from school visits had to say!

“I liked meeting Ms. Reida because she gave great advice for future writers because I am a future writer!”

“You’ll be sucked into her book right at the beginning!”

“It [Monsterville] can teach you lessons and I enjoy it even more because I know the author!”

“We got so much information, so much inspiration that I started writing my own book!”

“The brainstorm map/picture was really cool! It was a good way to plan out the story.  I also liked that she shared her pictures with us (especially of her pets) so we got to know her!”

“I sent her a message and she answered me back! Now I am friends with a real author!

Here’s what teachers/faculty had to say!

Last month, we had the pleasure of hosting author, Sarah Reida!  Her book “Monsterville” was a huge hit with our students.  She spent time with our Kdg-6th graders and walked them through how her story became published!  Sarah engaged the students in a power point that really helped them to see what goes into writing a book, getting illustrations made, and having copies printed.  After her presentation, she did a Q & A with the children to answer any questions they had.  Each student that ordered a copy of “Monsterville” received a personal autographed book!  They were so excited!  It was wonderful to let the students learn from others in our community that have had a dream come to life!

“We greatly appreciated Sarah Reida coming to speak to our 4th-6th grade students at Harmony Intermediate School in Belleville, IL. Sarah described her book writing process explaining the films & books that inspired her to create Monsterville.

“She also explained the publishing process for a book & how students can work towards getting a book published. Our students were eager to ask questions about the processes and were excited to get their hands on a copy of her book!”

“We were delighted to have Sarah present to our classroom! She was perfectly prepared with a PowerPoint presentation that held the students’ attention throughout. She was personable and relatable and the children really learned a lot about the writing process. We can’t wait for her to come and share her next novel!”
